It was dispatched in September 1993. ATV is an abbreviation of Actual Television (Aktel Televizyonu). As of August 2013, ATV was Turkey’s most famous channel with a portion of the overall industry of 22%

ATV was established by Din Bilgin, who is the first proprietor of the channel. The channel changed its proprietorship to Ciner Medya Grubu in 2002 and Tasarruf Mevduat Sigorta Fonu in 2007. ATV was possessed by alk Holding’s Turkuvaz Media Group, yet in 2013, its proprietorship changed again to Kalyon Group
